The Uncalled Four
TV – SIT COM
Premise: Four men, who were on a hit TV show together 20 years ago, are still good friends.
The show is about what they are doing nowadays.
Their show “The Boys in Company B”, about a company of soldiers in Viet Nam, was a top ten hit for 5 years and made them household names – for a time. They still make appearances at various shows, signing autographs and taking photos with fans. But, for the most part their fame has faded.
Conceit: the 4 main characters are all real life actors who achieved fame when they were younger. They play characters named after them. But their real life, as depicted in the show, is fictional.
Sgt. August MacDuff (Dave Foley) – Still going on auditions, still writing screenplays, still doing 99 seat theater jobs, still doing ‘voiceovers’, still trying to be a producer. Has a production company (run out of his house) called ‘Company B’ Productions – paying homage to their former show. Divorced but still in love with his wife. He has written a 20th Reunion ‘Company B’ show – where they would all get together and go on one last mission to save one of the group who had been kidnapped by terrorists. He is the person who tries to keep the group together. They have a weekly poker game at his house.
Pvt. Henry Parts . (Todd Bridges) – After the show ended he started a company called Pvt. Parts which produces black feature films and Television shows. He is very successful. Married with two children.
Pvt. Frankie Pizzarella. (Ralph Maccio) – Works for his father-in-law’s Prop House company. Called Pop’s Props, as a salesman. He is henpecked by his wife and not too happy.
Pvt. Louie Maggio – (Scott Baio) – Is now one of the most respected acting teachers. Divorced three times. Currently single but is always ‘hooking up’ with one of his much younger female acting students.
